Quote:t.A.T.u. (Rusia: Тату adalah duet pop asal Moscow, Rusia yang terdiri dari Lena Katina dan Julia Volkova . Grup ini dibentuk oleh Ivan Shapovalov pada tahun 1999. Arti dari t.A.T.u. atau ТАТУ sendiri berasal dari kata "ta" dan "tu" yang memiliki arti gadis ini menyukai gadis itu.

Album debut mereka, "200 Po Vstrechnoj" ialah album Rusia pertama mereka yang meraih status gold secara internasional. Dengan dirilisnya album pertama mereka yang berbahasa Inggris, "200 Km/h In The Wrong Lane", menjadikan t.A.T.u. artis pertama yang meraih IFPI Platinum Europe Award untuk album yang sama dalam 2 bahasa.

Pada awalnya, Lena dan Yulia digambarkan sebagai pasangan lesbian. Pada dokumentasi mereka tahun 2003, "Anatomy of t.A.T.u.", menjelaskannya bahwa hal itu merupakan bagian dari image grup tersebut, dan bahwa mereka bukanlah lesbian.

Tanggal 5 Oktober 2005, t.A.T.u. merilis "Dangerous and Moving" dan "Lyudi Invalidy". Selama 2006, t.A.T.u. merilis album kompilasi. Album ke-3 yang berbahasa Rusia, berjudul "Upravlenie Otbrosami" rilis April 2008, sementara album ke-3 yang berbahasa Inggris diharapkan rilis sebagai soundtrack untuk film "Finding t.A.T.u.".

Album Happy Smiles rilis 21 Oktober 2008, sedangkan album Waste Management yang merupakan album berbahasa Inggris ketiga dirilis tanggal 15 Desember 2009. Album ini merupakan English version dari 'Veselye Ulybki / Happy Smiles'.

13 April 2010 kemarin t.A.T.u. merilis video terbaru mereka "Sparks".
